By Air

There are no public airports in the Shoalhaven with the best options for Air travel being via Sydney and Canberra and connecting via road or rail.

There are Three major International and Domestic Airline carriers in Australia which are Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia.   There are also regional carriers including Rex airlines.

  • From Sydney
    • All international and domestic airlines fly into Sydney. Getting to the Shoalhaven from Sydney Airport is an easy two hours’ drive, or 160 kilometres south. From the Sydney metropolitan area you can follow the Princes Highway south with Berry being the first Shoalhaven town you’ll come across. From there you can travel along State Tourist Drive 7 to Kangaroo Valley for stunning panoramic views of the valley and from atop the Cambewarra Mountains, or continue south along the Princes Highway south which clearly signposts the many towns, villages and attractions of the Shoalhaven along the way. Some are on or near to the highway, some require a short drive off the highway, just follow the signs.
  • From Canberra
    • From Qantas and Virgin Australia both fly into Canberra. By road it’s a two and a half hour’s drive north east of around 200 kilometres. Take the Kings Highway from the ACT which will pass through the small towns of Braidwood and Nelligen, arriving just to the south of the Shoalhaven region at Batemans Bay. Travel along the Princes Highway north, the first Shoalhaven town you’ll arrive at will be Durras. Continue exploring north along the Princes Highway which clearly signposts the many towns, villages and attractions of the Shoalhaven along the way. Some are on or near to the highway, some require a short drive off the highway, just follow the signs.
