Merrigong Theatre Company is passionate about making theatre that is far from ordinary. We’re excited by works that connect with, and impact on, our community; theatre that entertains while pushing the boundaries of the form.
The Outside Man is such a show. This inventive new musical takes us on a journey to a whimsical dream-world where love – in all its beauty and pain – is the central thesis.
Devised by an ensemble of outstanding local artists, The Outside Man is being made in collaboration with The Disability Trust, and stars performers who are perceived to have an intellectual disability. These performers have given us a real gift: entirely new worlds, and magical new insights into love.
Featuring original songs co-composed by the cast and award-winning composer Daryl Wallis (Frankenstein, The Man Who Dreamt the Stars), they will be joined live on stage by musicians Jodi Phillis (The Clouds) and Tim Oxley (Roger Loves Betty).
