John MacNally – International Voice Of Romance
John MacNally was born in Dublin, Ireland.
He started his musical career as a boy soprano, later as an adult he studied classical music including opera and lieder. Having sung in ‘Il Travetore’ and two seasons at the Wexford festival of opera, he also sang leading roles in ‘Carousel’, ‘South Pacific’ and “Rose Marie’. While singing in Jury’s Irish Cabaret he was introduced to a song called ‘Mary in the Morning’. He recorded it for Colombia records in London and it became a hit.
John has appeared at Carnegie Hall and also the Lincoln Centre in New York, the London Palladium, the National Concert Hall in Dublin and the Sydney Opera House. He has also sung in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel, the Hilton Hotel, the Flamingo and Caesars Palace and the Grand Ole Oprey in Nashville.
John has appeared with Peter Allen, Liberace, Joan Sutherland, he also sang for Princess Grace of Monaco and the Emperor of Japan. When the President of Ireland came to Australia on an official state visit John was asked to organise a concert in the Sydney Town Hall in his honour
TV appearances include his own series in Dublin and the USA. He also hosted the tonight show on Channel.9 in Sydney for four years as well as hosting the Saturday Show on ABC TV. John has recorded many albums in London, Nashville and Sydney and is very proud to have received platinum and gold records in recognition of their success
