Hobie Kayak Bream Series
Hobie tournaments are all “catch and release”, lure and fly only . Anglers bring their best 3 or 4 bream (depending on the decision of the tournament director) back for a live weigh-in, by a specified time. The fish are then released live back into the Basin where they are free to swim away into the local marine environment.
By competing in the St Georges Basin round, of the Australia wide series, anglers have the opportunity to qualify for the 2017 Australian Championship which will be held in Western Australia later in the year. At the Australian Championship anglers compete out of fully rigged, brand new, factory supplied kayaks, and anglers simply bring their own rods and tackle.
If anglers compete in 5 of more tournaments, throughout the 2017 season, they have the opportunity to qualify to represent Australia at the 7th Hobie Fishing World Championships, which will be held at a yet to be released international location.
