The beautiful Shoalhaven is a popular place in the summer school holidays, so we have put together some information to help you get around.
Here are some Jervis Bay tips from our Visitor Services team:
Avoid the crowds at Hyams Beach and discover some of the less well known white sand beaches in Jervis Bay! Callala Beach, Huskisson Beach, Greenfield Beach, Blenheim Beach, Green Patch and Murrays Beach in Booderee National Park are all renowned for calm waters, powdery white sand and stunning scenery.

TAKE THE WHITE SANDS WALK
If you have your heart set on visiting Hyams Beach, leave the car in Vincentia and take the southern walking track from Greenfields Beach along the easy grade trail, taking in incredible bay views and maybe even the occasional dolphin!

Any of the the local beaches are perfect.
You can purchase your recreational fishing licence online at onegov.nsw.gov.au, by phone
on 1300 369 365, or from local agents such as Jervis Bay Caravan Park or Kmart Nowra.
Parts of Jervis Bay are marine park sanctuary zones where fishing is not allowed and
penalties apply. Check the map online at mpa.nsw.gov.au, or pick one up from the JBMP office in Huskisson or local tackle shops.

Check open grassy areas in the early morning and late afternoon. They are common in the
residential areas of Jervis Bay towns but you’ll be sure to see plenty in Booderee National
Park, try Green Patch or Cave Beach.
Callala Beach, Huskisson Beach, and Nelsons
Beach all have off-leash areas during restricted
times. Basin View Boat Ramp Reserve is 24
hour off-leash. Check local signage for details.

Free camping is available at Yalwal beside Danjera Dam, 30km west of Nowra,
unfortunately there are no free camping sites in the Jervis Bay area.
